One of the nice things I'm finding about being on Twitter is the way it directs you to so many places and connects you to so many people you otherwise wouldn't have come across. Everytime someone new follows you, Twitter sends an automated email to tell you and give you the chance to check out their profile. This was how I came across the wonderful website of dealer, Simon Beattie, a specialist in European and, in particular, Russian books. I was sold the moment my eye lighted on the book above: Cosmonaut Songs - what's not to like? But as it turns out Simon also has a very interesting and illuminating blog which is also well worth scrolling through.
If you are on Twitter and want to follow Simon Beattie he is @simon_beattie
If you would like to follow me, please do, @CallumJBooks
I am a bookcollector, bookdealer, publisher and writer living in Portsmouth on the South Coast of the UK.
This blog is my personal space for the recording of my numerous interests including science-fiction, victorian and vintage photography, gay literature, book design, typography, homoerotic artwork, the Amazon river, the books of Frederick Rolfe (Baron Corvo), Forrest Reid, sundry gay Victorian and Edwardian characters, Slash Fiction, Samuel R Delany, Vintage swimwear, Willard Price, Venice, and so on...
Alongside all of that you also get a personal journal of life and memoir and the self-therapy you have come to know and love from bloggers.
