Dust Jacket by Elias
In our ongoing quest to find the best of early and mid-twentieth century dust jackets, may I offer It Breathed Down My Neck, a collection of short stories by John Pudney. I can tell you that Pudney was, what might be described charitably as, a prolific writer whose geatest legacy will probably be the WW2 poem 'For Johnny' and if you want any more, he has a reasonable Wiki entry. But I can't tell you anything about the artist who signs this jacket, 'Elias', I think, which is a new one to me. Obviously, I shall be keeping an eye out for more though.
