Lehnert and Landrock from Chichester
R and I are still, together, collecting the postcards publnished in North Africa in the first half of the twentieth century by the German business partners, Lehnert and Landrock. The postcards can, roughly, be divided into three formats: b/w photographic, sepia and coloured. It has always been the coloured ones that we like best - although we collect any and all we can find - it was the colours that attracted us to them in the first place. So imagine our glee when we popped along to a local antiques and collectables fair at the weekend in Chichester and found some 12 or so of the coloured card in amongst a postcard dealer's 20-pence box. The four above, just a sample of the joy!
