Vintage Venice 1930s

We seem to be having something of a 1930s theme this week. Theses photos of Venice are from a multi-volume book called something like 'Lands and Peoples'. I think it's the colour palette above all else that makes these so attractive and also places them so disctinctively within their period.

you can't walk by the Rialto bridge now without being hounded by waiters trying to get you to sit in their restaurants. But i do remember a very romantic evening sitting with our scorching hot feet dangling in the water, on the first day of our honeymoon. :-)
